Consumerism, Soccer, and Happy Father’s Day

Wal-Mart has recently filed a something-or-other protesting the advance of the Cape Wind project. My disdain for Wal-Mart and disillusion in local government results in apathy for further information. Supporting local businesses breeds price competition and a knowledge of one’s craft. I had the displeasure of patronizing a Florida Wal-Mart for medical supplies (bandages). Alternative energy sources must be developed and the current infrastructure overall is in dire need of attention.

As for soccer, I am surprised anyone at my workplace asks me about the world cup. The stereotype as I understood was that soccer is like the metric system- it is our patriotic duty to systematically reject it. No one mentions the New England Revolution in casual conversation in my presence.

South Africa clearly has no interest in hosting another tournament.
